Welcome my peeps!

You have now joined my Croatian Cooking Challenge.

This cooking challenge is designed as an easy cooking course which features seven easy lunch meals that are usually prepared in a Croatian home.

Each lesson features a dish that can be cooked in about 30 minutes (some take more prep) with very simple but nourishing ingredients.

You might think that a 30-minute meal is fast food, but Croatian home chefs know the secret of how to use simple ingredients to cook up a healthy quick dish.

This is the kind of food that we grew up on, the food that our grandmas and mamas fed us with so we can grow healthy and happy.

The lessons are arranged by following the days of the week. So, we start with a Monday lunch and move on to the more lavish and complex Sunday feast.

But, you don't have to follow this order. In other words, you can mix and match the recipes as you wish.

Still, there is a logic to the way the recipes are ordered. They begin with a more frugal Monday lunch (we need to cleanse from the previous Sunday feast) and they progress in their level of comfort and calorie count.

Again, this wisdom is part of our eating culture. The Croatians know how to keep their waistline by combining simple and light food with the properly rich meals.

Rules of engagement

You can think of this course as a real challenge held over a single week or you can take as much time as you want and revisit each recipe. All the videos and recipes will be available for you all the time.

Use the comments section at the end of each lesson to ask me any technical details regarding culinary techniques. If anything is not clear or if you need more guidance, just drop a comment below and I will be here to assist you.

You can also engage with other course members by replying to their questions or you can simply share your cooking experiences.

It is also important to have a kind of accountancy and to brag a little bit about your achievements. So, in each lesson, I also invite you to share photos of your dishes in my Facebook group. If you're not already a member, just ask to join and you will be added into the group.

When you post photos in the group, tag me so I know that you are participating. Another nice thing is to tag a friend or two who you would like to eat this dish with.

If you are not on Facebook, you can share photos of your dishes on Instagram with the hashtag #crocookchallenge.

Many of you probably have my cookbook Croatian Desserts, but if not, you can check it out here.

There are plenty more goodies in my Croatia Honestly shop.

Let's get this cooking challenge started!
